Install the Mac app
Download Kioku and sign in with Apple or Google, or use email and password. Requires macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer).

Make your first memory
Record a short microphone-only thought about your day. You can also teach Kioku your voice, or skip and choose Start Recording from the menu bar.
The Mac adds screenshots and available browser context; the iPhone records microphone audio and photos you take in Kioku. Kioku processes recordings in the cloud to create searchable memories.

Connect ChatGPT or Claude
Add Kioku as an MCP connector and approve read-only access. Then ask your assistant something only you would know: “What did I work on this morning?”

Which ChatGPT or Claude plans can connect?
Claude: every plan, including Free (Free allows one custom connector). ChatGPT: an account and workspace that allow custom MCP connections, set up on the web. Developer mode or administrator permission may be required. The connection guide walks through it step by step.
Is it recording all the time?
Only while you have capture on. You start and stop it from the menu bar, and macOS shows its own recording indicator whenever a microphone is live.
Does it run on my Mac or in the cloud?
The Mac app records and uploads. Kioku processes your recordings in the cloud. Full detail on the security page.
Do the people I talk to know?
Kioku does not announce itself. Tell everyone who will be recorded and obtain their agreement before recording.
What can ChatGPT or Claude actually see?
It can search and read your memories, but cannot record, edit, delete, or send email. Kioku blocks searches for sensitive information and redacts incidental matches. Full detail on the security page.
Do you train AI on my recordings?
No. Kioku does not sell your personal information, use your private archive for advertising, or train a Kioku model on your archive.
What happens if I run out of hours?
Your weekly allowance stops new cloud capture until it resets. There are no overage charges and no surprise bills, and you can change plans at any time from Settings.
What happens to my archive if I downgrade or stop paying?
It stays. New recording and live captions stop when your paid or trial access ends, but Kioku doesn’t delete your archive for going quiet. It’s there until you delete your account, and you can export it from Settings whenever you like.

New accounts can record for three days with 8 hours of trial time. No payment or automatic renewal. See plans and trial terms.
Is there an iPhone app?
Kioku for iPhone records microphone audio and photos you take in Kioku. It is in limited private testing and is not on the App Store yet.
